Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms apply to the use of eutopiaart.com and to every residency program ("Program") you book with us. The details on each Program page (dates, price, what is and isn't included) form part of your agreement with us.
1. Who we are
EUTOPIA ART RESIDENCY AMKE, a non-profit civil company registered in Greece.
Tax ID (ΑΦΜ): 802720222 · G.E.MI. No.: 18159846000
Address: Pygmalion Christidi 30, 67132 Xanthi, Greece
Email: alex@eutopiaart.com · Tel: +30 698 704 1530
2. Applying and confirming your place
Applying is free and does not commit you to anything.
We read every application personally and reply within 3 weeks.
Your place is confirmed only when we have accepted you in writing and received your deposit.
Participants must be 18 or older.
3. Prices and what is included
Prices are per person, in euros, as shown on the Program page when your place is confirmed.
The price covers only what the Program page lists as included.
Not included unless stated: travel to and from the Program, travel and medical insurance, personal art materials, optional excursions, and personal expenses.
Any state accommodation tax (such as the Greek climate resilience fee) is shown on the Program page and paid as stated there.
4. Deposit and payment
A deposit secures your place. It is deducted from the total price.
Sea & Urbanism — Kavala: €500
Ceramics Symposium — Meteora: €780
Nature & Perception — Monastery: €780
Fire & Form — Avramilia and Art & Photography — Thrace: as stated on the Program page
Payment terms:
The balance is due by the date stated in your booking confirmation.
Payment methods: as stated in your booking confirmation.
Bank or payment-provider fees are paid by the participant.
If the balance is not received by the due date, we may cancel your booking. This counts as a cancellation by you (section 5).
5. If you cancel
Deposits and all other payments are non-refundable if you cancel, change your mind, or do not attend, for any reason.
If we fill your place from our waiting list, you may transfer to a later session in the same year or season.
Please cancel in writing to apply@eutopiaart.com so we can offer your place to another artist.
Right of withdrawal. Our Programs are accommodation and leisure services provided on specific dates. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as applied in Greek law, the 14-day right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to bookings.
6. If we cancel or change a Program
If we cancel a Program (for example because of too few participants or events beyond our control), we refund all amounts you have paid us, minus any transaction fees charged by banks or payment providers. We refund within 14 days.
Our responsibility is limited to that refund. We are not responsible for flights, travel or other costs you have booked. We strongly recommend flexible tickets and travel insurance.
We may make reasonable changes to schedules, excursions, venues or mentors for reasons beyond our control. If a change is significant, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer an equivalent alternative.
7. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control. These include natural disasters, wildfires, extreme weather, epidemics, strikes, transport disruption, government orders, and closure of a venue by its owner.
8. Your responsibilities and conduct
Eutopia is a shared community without hierarchy. We ask every participant to:
treat other residents, staff, mentors and hosts with respect;
care for shared spaces, studios and equipment, and follow the house rules of each venue (including the monastery's rules);
tell us in advance about dietary needs, allergies or health conditions that matter for your safety (voluntary, see our Privacy Policy);
take part in walks, river activities and excursions at your own judgement, and follow the guidance of our team.
We may end a participant's stay, without refund, in cases of serious or repeated breach: harassment, violence, discrimination, illegal activity, or behaviour that endangers others.
9. Insurance and health
You must have travel and medical insurance that covers the whole stay, including travel days. EU residents should also bring their European Health Insurance Card, but it is not a substitute for insurance.
10. Our liability
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings, equipment or artworks, unless caused by our fault.
We are not responsible for services provided by third parties you book yourself (airlines, ferries, hotels).
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under Greek law.
11. Your artworks, photos and filming
You keep all rights to the work you create.
We photograph and film Programs, including participants and their work, to document them. With your consent (given in your application or booking), we may use these images to promote Eutopia, crediting you where possible. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us. Material already printed or published cannot always be recalled.
We appreciate a credit ("created at Eutopia Art Residency, Greece") when you show work made during your residency.
Works or materials left behind after a Program are kept for 30 days, after which we may dispose of them.
12. Use of this website
The website's content, texts, images and design belong to Eutopia Art Residency and its licensors, or to the artists credited. Do not reuse them without permission.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
13. Complaints and governing law
Please contact us first at alex@eutopiaart.com; we aim to resolve any complaint within 14 days.
These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes go to the courts of Xanthi, Greece, without affecting any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
You may also contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (Synigoros tou Katanaloti) or, for cross-border disputes, the European Consumer Centre in your country.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Your booking is governed by the version in force on the date your place was confirmed.
