What happens when Artists meet Eutopia Art Residency

Meet artists been in Eutopia.
Listen to their Experience.

Why Kavala?

Built between mountain and sea, Kavala is a historic Mediterranean city where history, culture, and everyday life naturally intertwine. Compact and walk-able, it offers artists the best of both worlds: an inspiring creative retreat and an authentic local experience.

Here, your day flows effortlessly:

  • Work in the morning

  • Swim in the afternoon

  • Wander through the Ottoman and Byzantine old town

  • Explore ancient history at nearby UNESCO site Philippi

  • Connect over fresh local food and ideas with fellow artists

Kavala is not just the backdrop to your residency—the sea, the city, and its rhythm become an active part of your creative journey.

Kavala — How Your Days Unfold
How Your Days Unfold There is no required structure.
That is the structure.
Your days Your own rhythm

Kavala is Eutopia's most open program. There are no scheduled sessions or mandatory workshops. You wake up, you go to the studio or the sea or the old town. You work when you feel it. You rest when you need to. The city provides everything else.

During the program Discover the Blue City.

You can visit, the old city, the ancient theater of Philippi, the Archaeological Museum, the Tobacco Museum, the house of Muhammad Ali, Go to the island of Thassos (40 minutes by ferry boat). Υou decide what attracts you.

End of residency A collective exhibition

The program concludes with an Open Studio, a group exhibition, an event, and a celebration with music and wine—open to the public, fellow artists, publishers, and collectors. The artworks created during the residency are showcased.

On group activities: None are mandatory. You decide how much time to spend on activities. We encourage participation as an opportunity to develop connections and experiences — but the choice is always yours. Activities are not Eutopia policing your time. They are Eutopia offering openings.
